Volunteer Retail Assistant - Barnardo's


Running a Barnardo's store needs a good team of enthusiastic people and you could be part of it! Our stores rely on a team of multi-skilled volunteers from all walks of life who come together to generate vital funds for Barnardo's work with children, young people and their families.


Our stores offer a fantastic opportunity to gain experience of the retail operation. Our Retail Assistant Volunteers are trained to assist in a wide range of activities including

  • Providing excellent customer service.
  • Serving customers and successfully operation the till.
  • Replenishing stock by making sure our rails and shelves are well stocked and are visually appealing and tidy.
  • Stock preparation including sorting, steaming and pricing.
  • Administration tasks.


Each volunteer can agree hours with the store manager from a minimum of 02 hours per week. Due to the nature of the role we ask that the volunteers commit to a minimum of two months.
