Volunteer Mentoring Buddy - Foyle Down Syndrome Trust


Foyle Down Syndrome Trust was formed in 1995 to promote development of a culture which would encourage and enable Children and Young People with Down Syndrome to live full, independent, and productive lives.
Do you want to be involved in an exciting new initiative for Young People with Down Syndrome and help them integrate successfully into the community? If so, then you may be exactly who we are looking for.
Foyle Down Syndrome Trust is seeking committed and friendly Volunteer Mentors to support, encourage and empower our young people with Down syndrome aged 8-25 years old to enjoy and engage in new, inclusive social and recreational opportunities in their community.
Our Young People have many different interests, and would like to experience new things. Some of the activities Volunteers Mentors may be involved in supporting our young people to access include: -
Cinema                                            Gym                                     Sports Club
Bowling                                           Shopping                             Going for dinner
We value the contributions made by all our volunteers and are committed to ensuring that all our Young People receive the highest level of support they require.
Foyle Down Syndrome Trust aim to ensure that all our volunteers receive the appropriate training to deliver this support.
Training will include-
Down Syndrome Awareness                 Child Protection
First Aid                                                     Confidentiality
