Santander Foundation funding boost.

 NORTH WEST VOLUNTEER CENTRE BOOSTED BY DONATION FROM THE SANTANDER FOUNDATION

North West volunteer Centre has received £ 4900 to fund 140 accredited training places for people across the Derry City and Strabane District Council Area .

The donation was provided by the Santander Foundation, which offers Discovery Grants to UK registered charities for projects that help disadvantaged people in local communities.

The North West Volunteer Centre promotes volunteering across the district and delivers a range of training programmes to staff and volunteers.
The grant will allow 140 people receive accredited training programmes in First Aid and Safeguarding upskilling the knowledge of the people who many of which are volunteers that support a range of organisations across the district.

Jacqueline Garnon Centre Manager said: “……We are delighted to announce that we can now provide 140  free training places to those interested in finding out about safeguarding children and first aid training – a great boost for the centre and a great opportunity for volunteers who  wish to attain qualifications……"
