Employer supported Volunteering Challenges needed

Employer Supported Volunteering is a concept that has long been embraced by large companies in Belfast who have recognised the benefits of attaching themselves to a good cause or community concern. In the North West, there is the beginning of an increased awareness of those benefits including the improvement of team morale and increased employee involvement in their local community. The North West Volunteer Centre would like to establish a list of suitable team challenges that we could offer to employers and we are therefore asking community/voluntary organisations in the Derry City and Strabane District council areas to consider any DIY, maintenance or similar activities that would be suitable of a team of employee volunteers that have been released for a day to help out.

There are huge benefits for the voluntary organisation as well, you will be developing relationships within the statutory or private sector, potentially tapping into a resource of ready made, eager volunteers and essentially getting important tasks done. So, if you need your space redecorated or your grounds are looking overgrown and untidy or if you have an interesting fundraising appeal, we want to hear from you. We will send you out a standard form to complete with as much information as possible to help us source you a suitable team of volunteers. To find out more, contact Geoff at the volunteer centre.
