Local representative - Make-A-Wish

Make-A-Wish in Northern Ireland are looking for committed, reliable people to be a local voice and presence for the charity; raising income and awareness for Make-A-Wish in their communities.

What would you be doing?

  • Using your networks and local knowledge to promote Make-A-Wish
  • Actively encourage members of your local community to support Make-A-Wish through their own fundraising activities
  • Promote current fundraising initiatives on behalf of Make-A-Wish
  • Represent Make-A-Wish at a variety of fundraising and awareness events
  • Talk about Make-A-Wish to schools and community groups
  • Arranging/attending local volunteer meetings 4 times a year
  • Opportunity to train as one of our Wish Visitors after successful probationary period

What skills and attributes do you need?

  • Great interpersonal and communication skills
  • Reliability
  • A proactive attitude
  • Bags of enthusiasm
  • A flexible approach
  • Willingness to work alone and as part of a team
  • Ability to travel up to 30 mile radius
  • Internet access and have basic IT skills

How much time do you need to commit?

Approx 4 hours a week

What support will you receive?

  • You'll have a dedicated and experienced local manager to support and guide you
  • On-going training
  • A range of fundraising materials and presentation tools
  • Regular catch up's with other local volunteers
  • Full access to volunteer website, Wishnet, where you can communicate with staff and other volunteers
